What you’ll gain
The AJP offers a supportive and friendly volunteer team dedicated to helping animals in law and policy throughout Queensland and Australia. Our Queensland branch is run solely by volunteers who dedicate their time and skills in order to help our animal friends. By volunteering, you’ll have a critical role in making real change for animals. You’ll also get to work alongside a great bunch of driven, intelligent, fun, diverse and inspiring people. You are bound to make friends with like-minded people and engage in interesting and meaningful work.

Duration: Minimum commitment to the October 2021 Committee Elections

Time Commitment: 5+ hours per week but highly variable

Location: Work from home (with both online and in person meetings)

Ordinary Member Responsibilities

  • Attend and actively participate constructively in State Committee meetings including timely reading of reports and documents presented to the State Committee
  • Develop an understanding of AJP Constitution, Bylaws and policies
  • Assist Executive Committee members with their duties
  • Volunteer to support organisational activities
  • Ensure any tasks assigned are completed within the designated timeframes
  • Support all decisions outside the Committee meetings
  • Keep in touch with other Committee Members, volunteers, and staff where applicable
  • Contribute to strategic and operational planning processes and monitor performance
  • Take part in training and induction sessions where applicable
  • Represent the organisation at significant community events when required
